Trustworthiness.

What quality do you value most in a friend?

It is hard for me to trust people. Frankly, I am not a people person because I don’t trust easily. I’ve been burnt several times.

I know people have a lot impacting their life, and life at best is brief, but if I give that person my attention, my time, my thoughts, my deeds, I expect something in return.

When I spill my feelings or even confide something somewhat trivel, I don’t expect a friend to make light of it, repeat it , or dismiss it as if it was not worth of a second thought.

I listen, and I evaluate, and mostly, I try to be there. I even try to see things through their eyes.

I expect the same.

If I don’t get it I know I am not important and I come to the conclusion that this person is a fair weather friend if I friend at all.

Don’t break my trust.

Friendship is a two-way street. I travel on my side, making the right stops. A good friend travels on their side doing the same. We connect many times, and we turn and go the other way without crashing into each other.

Under the name Francis Lee, I write interracial Christian romantic suspense. My stories are about finding enduring love when hope and redemption seem unattainable as danger lurks around every corner. My characters learn that where there is darkness, "joy will always come in the morning".
