“ Is not my help in me? And is wisdom driven quite from me? Job 6 verse 13 KJV

We often say that we trust the Lord but when the test of faith comes, we break down.  There is a saying; you never know the strength of tea until it is steeped in hot water. ( Vicissitudes of Life, 2006)

God sees and knows everything.

“O Lord I beseech Thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of Thy servant, and to the prayer of Thy servants, who desire to fear Thy name.”   Nehemiah 1 verse 11 KJV

It is necessary to be dependent upon the Lord and not on ourselves.  God promises that whenever we call, He will answer.  God sees and knows everything.  He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient.  (Vicissitudes of Life,  2006)

his vanity is crushed under the hand of the One True and Living God.

What happens when someone defies God. – excerpt from The Vicissitudes of Life (2006)

…who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go: I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. – Exodus 5 verse 2 KJV

In this regard, Pharaoh is a type of Satan (the enemy), who did not comprehend that there is a supreme God. In those days of history, Pharaohs were revered, believing themselves to be gods and bowed to no one. The Pharaoh in this historical account is mighty and thinks no one compares to him because of his wealth, greatness and conquests throughout the world, until his vanity is swiftly crushed under the hand of the One True and Living God.

“There is no other God beside me.” Says the Lord – adapted from the KJV

Holiness

In the New Testament of the Bible, holiness means to be set apart from the profane (the unholy) and refers to the beauty, purity and divine perfection of God.  God the Creator, who called the things that were not into being.  It is this same God, who in his great mercy loved us so much and could not deny Himself, sent his only son to become our Savior.  – adapted from the King James Version

Yet to Be # 4

God cannot tell a lie.

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”  Numbers 23:19 KJV

Comparisons can prove equality and inequality as well as attest to the similarities and differences between the superior and the inferior. “God is not a man, that he should lie,” is a subtle comparison upholding one fundamental truth; that the infinite God and Creator should never be equated to anyone, because He is holy.

God cannot lie…

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.  – Matthew 24:35 KJV

Jesus said it and he cannot tell a lie because, he is holy and he is God. There is no doubting his words. Doubting leads to fear and fear to unbelief.

that element of belief that it will or can happen

“Yet to be” means – something has not at this very moment happened, but there is that element of belief that it will or can happen.

“The Lord has heard my supplication, the Lord will receiver my prayer. – Psalm 6:9 Kjv

God hears every prayer and answers them all.  Sometimes the answer it yes, no or sometimes wait awhile.  The writer of this verse is positive. God hears and God will answer.  There are no doubts.

Hope

…who against hope believed in hope and hope does not put me to shame.  Therefore, my heart is glad because my trust is in the Lord and I wait on him.  For his promises are true and He is my hope. It is He who renews my strength, for when I am weak then I am strong. Hence, I can run and not be weary, walk and not faint and fly high above the heavens like the eagles that soar.

New Year – Hope

Forasmuch as you know your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Adapted from the KJV

Now comes the weeping,

then the glad reaping,

Now comes the labour in the Lord

then the reward. – by Anon

2021 is a new year, another chance to start fresh with a so called clean slate. Although this year is new, the hardships, stress and pain of 2020 are old and will not so easily disappear but will linger. Nevertheless, we can rest assure there is HOPE as we pray for something better.

Hope does not make us ashamed.
