Overlooked

Sometimes, you may feel like you seem to fade into the background, where no one can  see you.

You think if you just do something great, say something snappy or even witty to get good attention, then people will see you. They will know you, know your name.

But life doesn’t work like that. People either like you, gravate to you, or maybe they just don’t.

Being overlooked is not anything anyone wants to be.

We all want to be seen.

We all want to be heard.

Silence can be deafening.

Silence can be painful and lonely.

If you are a child of God, you are blessed.

You are never alone or overlooked.

All of God’s children have a voice.

A voice that God gave to us so we can use it to call out from that lonely place for help for guidance for companionship.

God hears.

He answers.

He knows you.

He sees you.

He remembers his promise forever concerning you. Psalm 105 verse 8.

God says in the Bible, which is his word.

Behold I have graven you upon the palms of my hands. Isaiah 49 verse 16.

He remembers you.

He remembers his child and looks out for you like the father in the story of the prodigal son. God is prepared for you. Like that father,he can see you at a distance. And will have compassion and run to you with arms wide open.

He is waiting for you.

He cares when others don’t….

Redeeming Time

Time waits on no one. It marches on even when we are caught at an impasse and does not stop for anyone. It is the constant in life. Tick tock. Tick Tock…

I try not to be lazy. I try to use up as much time as I am given in a day. I am not perfect with my results, but at the end of the day I hope my ways please the Lord, and I have not wasted my time.

Death of a friend…

The home call of a family friend, someone I have known from childhood, puts life into perspective.

Life is so fleeting with all the ups and downs. Yet, within the shadows of these trials and tribulations, there are moments of joy and blessing where there is singing and laughter. The complexities of living are something to hold fast and to give God thanks for all he has done and all he will do.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loaded us with benefits. Psalm 68 verse 19.

Something New

God does not do the same thing the same way.

Every day is new.

Look for him to work for you. Know it and own it.

(Adapted from Isaiah 43 verse 19.)

Guidance at sunrise

I start the day by thanking the Lord and asking for guidance.

I learned I can’t do anything without him.

I try to recall his promises so I could thank him as I take hold of those words.

For example…

I pray, ” Lord, you promised to go before me and take control, making my path straight. I claim this promise and leave everything in thy hands. Amen.”

This is not a charm like a rabbit’s foot. It isn’t magic.

I know he is handling everything for me.

Deliverer of the hopeless

Before the day was I am he…

Before time began, God was there.

There is none who can deliver out my hand…

He will never give you over. He keeps you close.

I will work, and who shall let it?

He will work on your behalf and who can stop it or who can handle it.

There is no one like the Lord.

(Adapted from Isaiah 43 verse 13.)😀

What about the caregivers of those who are ill?

No one talks about the caregivers. It is a thankless and exhausting job to take care of a loved one who has physical or mental concerns.

Yet, it can be a blessing

There are good days and bad days, but looking at the situation with a compassionate eye makes the weariness of each task almost fade away into nothingness.

Some people say it is a calling. Clearly, those folks are the ones who have never seen another person’s most basic needs.

It is not a calling but is a creation or necessity of life with all its varying circumstances.

One thing I know for sure is that when times get tough, never turn your back on that vulnerable loved one. If you need help, just ask.

My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9.

An Everlasting Love

God’s love is greater than my understanding. Why he loves me is unbelievable. Before the world began, he loved me with an eternal, undying love.

Who am I that he should favor me?

Who am I that he sees me and cares for me with unmerited affection?

I am nothing before the Creator before the Lord of life, and yet he could condescending to think of me.

I love him because he first loved me.

Isaiah 43 verse 4

Since you were precious in my sight… I have loved you.

Do you only pray to get something?

Sometimes, it is good to pray for giving thanks sake. We don’t have to ask to receive. We can also give him praise because of what he has done but also for who he is. Or we can give thanks because of what he means to us.

Prayer is our way of talking to God. We should make the most of it.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will i praise him.Psalm 28 verse 7.

Why does God’s promise never to leave us?

We must have some serious separation issues, or we just feel lonely often.

I am checking and hope to deeply  investigate the claim that there are over 100 verses quoting God’s promise to never leave us.

We receive it in the Bible directly from God’s words or from the evidence or testimony of those of faith.

I’m not sure if this number is  correct, but i know these words are repeated often. When something is repeated over and over again, there is great value to those words.
