How to Stay Hopeful When Things Are Hard?

Waiting can feel like your life is on pause…

Through prayer and relying on God’s promises. At times, we can feel as if God is so far away and He does not hear our prayers. We wait and wait, and still there is no word from above. We believe waiting is wasting time.

The Bible says:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Waiting can feel like your life is on pause while everyone else moves forward. Other people are getting the answers, the opportunities, the healing, the relationships you’ve prayed for – and you’re still here, in the same place, with the same questions. It is easy to believe that nothing is happening, that time is being wasted, that God has somehow overlooked you.

But Isaiah 40:31 paints a different picture. Waiting upon the Lord is not the same as passively sitting in a corner, staring at the clock. It is a kind of leaning in-turning your face toward Him, even when He seems silent; holding onot Him, even when you don’t see what He’s doing. This kind of waiting is not empty; it is the place where He promises to renew your strength.

What do you do when you are waiting on God for an answer? Do you wait with hope? Do you beg Him every day for the answer? Do you cry hard thinking He will have pity on you? Or do you rest in His promise of faith?

Drop me a line, and let’s talk. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Next post on hope will continue soon, keep an eye open.

Completing All My Projects

What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

Now that I have my first ebook out, I need to get it noticed in a good way. So,I need to market the book. Not only that, but I also have other writing projects in the works.

I like to keep busy. To me busy means I have less chance of being lazy getting distracted.

But that is just me. Keeping busy works for my productive self then again, I don’t want to burn out.

Yikes!

Pacing would be a good thing. One step at a time until each and every project is complete.

So, marketing first, which is a full time challenge all by itself. But it is a challenge along with everything else I am looking forward to.

Ask me in six months if I accomplished anything or if I am a basket case.

Keep Focus

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

As a teenager or really as an adult life can be distracting. I remember how important certain things were to me when i was younger: going out with friends to that one event, checking out that special something I couldn’t wait to see. I just had to be there because it would be the end of the world if I missed out.

I learned that there can be something else around the corner therefore, I shouldn’t stray from my purpose or my goals.

I would say to my younger self that there will always be hiccups in life that can slow you down or even throw you off the path to your goals.

My advise is to get up. Keep moving forward and keep your eyes on your goal.

If this is what you want and what you believe in, please stay focused and everything will come to pass.

Constant questions

What bores you?

I am a very private person. Though it is hard to be private in  a world today where social media exposes so many and so many things still, I like to keep something of me to myself.

I don’t mind getting to know someone answering the usual number of questions but, when they ask private pointed questions I get bored and move on.

Frankly, if we just met don’t be overly nosey.

Keep talking while I keep walking.

Completion of My Devotional Book

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

I am so happy my book on hope is finished. Though it isn’t my romantic suspense novel but it is something else. The novel still has a deadline too.

My hope- see cool pun. My hope is that it will encourage every one who reads it just like it encourages me.

I finished a book.

Yes.

Now, I am working on publishing it and of course marketing. The business side of a writer has to be done as well.

The title of my devotional is Hope Sees What Can Be.

The Death of the Christ

What historical event fascinates you the most?

OK. Some say it is morbid, but I am not looking at it with fascination as in entertainment but in awe of how he suffered.

I will make it short. I don’t like talking or reading a great deal.

Crucifixion was a painful way to die. The Romans were good at giving out punishment. In this case, he is an innocent person who was hated because of all the good he did and who he was.

Outside in the hot sun.  Suspended on a wooden cross with nails in the hands and feet. not just little nails. These were spikes about five to seven inches in length, with a diameter of about 3/4 inches made of iron.   Hammered with great force into flesh and bone.It was a slow death full of agony.

But with Jesus, they up the process and did more.

He was also scrouged before the nails were driven into him.

Roman scrouging was with a whip of several cords at the end of each there knots made with metal or animal bone. Upon impact with flesh, the knots  be came embedded in the skin. When pulled back, the knots would tear the skin.

Then he was mocked, and  a crown made of thorns was pressed down on his head.

Also, when he cried for water because he was thirsty, they gave him vinegar on a sponge to drink.

That was only his physical suffering. There is much to learn about his death, but that is a message  for another day.

It is fascinating to know that he endured it as man, for us.

Being Happy With The Simple.

What does it mean to be a kid at heart?

The average kid with the average upbringing takes things easy. Worrying is not in their orbit. Things are either black or white with nothing gray in between.

I think to be a kid at heart is to have a child’s character. Ask for something. See if you get it, then ask again, and if you don’t get it, you move on to the next best thing.

No matter how old you are, it is best to keep it simple. Be active. Laugh at the simple things. Try something new, and if you fail, so what move on. Life is too short.

Are we there yet?

Kids live with expectancy, especially when they have a goal they want to meet. Sure, they get disappointed when things do not work out, but  most kids pick themselves up and get going. They are resilient.

Oh, to be a kid again and not to worry beyond the moment

Three more wishes

You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?

Three is not enough, and I was not told I could not ask for three more.

I will not be greedy and ask for three extra.

Well, maybe I will..

My…

Describe a family member.

He is the only male member in our household.

He is caring and very kind. I believe that because he was always  around women, he grew to respect females.

Women loved him and trusted him, and he was so gentle with them. He married a strong woman and wasn’t afraid to accept her opinions. In fact, they worked as a team, something I am looking for in my love life.

Most of all, he loved the Lord. He honored and obeyed him throughout his lifetime.

I miss my Dad.

He was a great man.

He had faults, but when he showed love and kindness to family and friends, it was all from the heart.

Risk Taking…

What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?

I am so not a risk taker. I worry too much about the what ifs. Even now, if I take one step out of sync, I keep looking over my shoulder to see if disaster is going to strike.

I think taking risks is a matter of faith. Frankly, I don’t think my faith is strong with regard to certain things.

Having said that, I believe that if everything lines up and the pros and the cons are weighted, I can jump in. I don’t like doing anything blindfolded. I need to know if I do something, the result or outcome can go one way or the other. Then I think of if I can handle the outcome.

For every action, there are consequences.
