What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?
I have great memories of Labor Day weekends because I think of my Mama.
Mom worked hard all her life, and the Lord blessed her with fullness of days. When I was young, she never took off March break to be with me and take a vacation. She wanted that time for me to have a break from school. She took off the first two weeks of school after the summer break so she could be there for me.
Those first two weeks of school were the best. I would come home for lunch break and she would be there smiling waiting with a hot meal. She would fuss over me and make sure my clothes were on straight and they were clean.
After school, she would be waiting again to welcome me home. She would take my books and we would chat.
When she retired with Dad, both would be waiting for my sisters and I to get home from work. If our schedules were different one thing they would always gather us up before work or school and have our family prayer before leaving the house.
Now that they are gone, we still come together in the morning for family prayer. We still have dinner together every night and chat.
But most of all, every Labor Day holiday I smile and remember Mama taking time for me.
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge; he putters down one and setters up another. Psalm 75 verses 6 and 7.
God is in control and will not give his power to another.
When things are going well, we have that notion to believe it is all by our own strength. But God gives the strength and clears the way on our path.
We can trust him. Because He does know the way through this wilderness we call life.
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name forever?
Psalm 74 verse 10.
We live in a society where God is not the center and is therefore not important. Every day, we move among people who have no regard for the things of the Lord. There are religions that seek peace and give instructions on how to live in peace, but they do not know the true and living God. Their words will not last forever.
The answers to life lie in the word of God. Yet, no one opens the Book of books to read. If they did, they would learn the truth.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promises. Soon, he will put all things right. He will be the one all the earth will praise. Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
I feel most productive late at night or very early in the morning before sunrise. This is the best time: the quiet of the house, no dogs barking, no sister talking nonstop, just me, my computer, and my imagination.
I have little free time. At work, they pile more work and responsibilities on me, but don’t give me more time to do them. Then, for some reason, I find the time to make time.
Why can’t I do this in my personal life? Just make time to do all the wonderful things I want to do.
My favorite topic is talking about all the great things I can do when I squeeze time out of my schedule. I love pouring over articles, drawings, writing, and collecting them. I like talking about how these things make me relax, and then I explore different art and crafts to add to my growing collection.
It may seem weird, but just talking about what art project I get to do next relaxes me and makes me feel content.
