We stand on the threshold of a new year looking inward for strength and forward for hope, in the midst of our quivering apprehension and excitement.
We fear the future when we can’t see clearly the path that is set before us. Still without knowing what this new year will bring, we can rest in the knowledge and assurance of God promises.
He will never leave us or forsake us. His promises are real. His word is true.
We have nothing to worry about. We have nothing to fear because God is in control.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day. Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Psalm 91 verses 5 to 7.
When I think about Christ, I see him as my Lord and Saviour. He is the son of God, the son of his love. His only begotten son was with him way back in eternity before the world began.
Matthew 22 verse 42
And Jesus asked them saying, What think you of Christ? Whose son is he?
This is a personal question deserving a personal response.
He was wounded for my transgressions, he was bruised for my iniquities: the chastisement of my peace was upon him; and with his stripes I am healed.
He suffered so I could be called a child of God therefore, God is my Father.
Go and tell my brethern…I ascend unto my Father and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Because God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved me.
And hath raised me up together, and made me sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Wherefore I am no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
We are children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ…
His suffering, death, burial, resurrection and ascension to Glory has put me in this place of favor with God.

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.
As I put the Lord first in my life, he becomes my guide. Therefore, am I confident and secure in Him and in His loving kindness.
