The Bible

What gives you direction in life?

There is an old Sunday School song that sums things up well. It calls the Bible as my college.

I know some say the Bible is  antiquated, and yes, it is an ancient book, but there are so many lessons to learn within the pages.

It is God’s word.

Every morning, I pray and open the Bible to get instructions for the day. The Holy Spirit speaks to me in my spirit. I make choices based on what I learn and what I read.

To really understand the good of the Bible, you have to walk by faith, and the Spirit of God will open your eyes to the truth. It is so simple.

God says those who diligently seek Him will find Him. He is not lost. He is waiting for you.

For The Moment…92

Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Adapted from Hebrews  11 verse 6.

He will carry me

Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

He will carry me no matter if my load is heavy.

Jesus will wrap his arms around. When I can’t get up, he will make me strong.

He will never forsake me. He will never leave me no matter where I go. He is with me always.

It is a song that rings in my head when times get tough. These days, times are always hard, and things will get worse.

This song comforts me.

Labor Day is My Mother’s Day

What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

I have great memories of Labor Day weekends because I think of my Mama.

Mom worked hard all her life, and the Lord blessed her with fullness of days. When I was young, she never took off March break to be with me and take a vacation. She wanted that time for me to have a break from school. She took off the first two weeks of school after the summer break so she could be there for me.

Those first two weeks of school were the best. I would come home for lunch break and she would be there smiling waiting with a hot meal. She would fuss over me and make sure my clothes were on straight and they were clean.

After school, she would be waiting again to welcome me home. She would take my books and we would chat.

When she retired with Dad, both would be waiting for my sisters and I to get home from work. If our schedules were different one thing they would always gather us up before work or school and have our family prayer before leaving the house.

Now that they are gone, we still come together in the morning for family prayer. We still have dinner  together every night and chat.

But most of all, every Labor Day holiday I smile and remember Mama taking time for me.

For The Moment…91

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge; he putters down one and setters up another. Psalm 75 verses 6 and 7.

God is in control and will not give his power to another.

When things are going well, we have that notion to believe it is all by our own strength. But God gives the strength and clears the way on our path.

We can trust him. Because He does know the way through this wilderness we call life.

For The Moment…90

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name forever?

Psalm 74 verse 10.

We live in a society where God is not the center and is therefore not important. Every day, we move among people who have no regard for the things of the Lord. There are religions that seek peace and give instructions on how to live in peace, but they do not know the true and living God. Their words will not last forever.

The answers to life lie in the word of God. Yet, no one opens the Book of books to read. If they did, they would learn the truth.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promises. Soon, he will put all things right. He will be the one all the earth will praise. Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall  confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

When I was young

Have you ever been camping?

I went camping when I was young. Not pitch a tent camping but summer camping with other same age campers.

I hated it.

Sure, in the end, I made friends, and the activities were fun, but I hated it. The other campers were mean. Typical.

It was my first real time away from home alone, and I learned a lot. For example:

Young girls can be mean even at a Christian camp. Girls will be girls.

I see some of them still, and I get the last laugh. People just like to let themselves go.

As for the other type of camping; I am so not interested.

I hate bugs.

At night and early morning

When do you feel most productive?

I feel most productive late at night or very early in the morning before sunrise. This is the best time: the quiet of the house, no dogs barking, no sister talking nonstop, just me, my computer, and my imagination.

Watch me go.

What are your favorite emojis?

A smiley face makes me feel happy, and I want to share  the good feeling

Free time

What topics do you like to discuss?

I have little free time. At work, they pile more work and responsibilities on me, but don’t give me more time to do them. Then, for some reason, I find the time to make time.

Why can’t I do this in my personal life? Just make time to do all the wonderful things I want to do.

My favorite topic is talking about all the great things I can do when I squeeze time out of my schedule. I love pouring over articles, drawings, writing, and collecting them. I like talking about how these things make me relax, and then I explore different art and crafts to add to my growing collection.

It may seem weird, but just talking about what art project I get to do next relaxes me and makes me feel content.

Crafting is a great topic.
