How to Stay Hopeful When Things Are Hard?

Waiting can feel like your life is on pause…

Through prayer and relying on God’s promises. At times, we can feel as if God is so far away and He does not hear our prayers. We wait and wait, and still there is no word from above. We believe waiting is wasting time.

The Bible says:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Waiting can feel like your life is on pause while everyone else moves forward. Other people are getting the answers, the opportunities, the healing, the relationships you’ve prayed for – and you’re still here, in the same place, with the same questions. It is easy to believe that nothing is happening, that time is being wasted, that God has somehow overlooked you.

But Isaiah 40:31 paints a different picture. Waiting upon the Lord is not the same as passively sitting in a corner, staring at the clock. It is a kind of leaning in-turning your face toward Him, even when He seems silent; holding onot Him, even when you don’t see what He’s doing. This kind of waiting is not empty; it is the place where He promises to renew your strength.

What do you do when you are waiting on God for an answer? Do you wait with hope? Do you beg Him every day for the answer? Do you cry hard thinking He will have pity on you? Or do you rest in His promise of faith?

Drop me a line, and let’s talk. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Next post on hope will continue soon, keep an eye open.

He never changes…

He is the same today, yesterday and forever.

For (God says) I am the Lord, I change not. Malachite 3 verse 6.

Gos gives in abundance

If we follow God.

If we do his will.

If we love God, then we will see His natural kindness.

Even today do I (says God) I declare that I will render double unto thee.  Zechariah 9 verse 12.

God has perfect timing…

He will come through for you.

He has never forgotten his promise to provide and to never leave you.

God’s timing is perfect.

Behold, at the time( God says) I will undo all that affect you. Zephaniah 3 verse 19.

What an amazing promise.

How do you trust God?

That is a good question.

Do you trust God with all your heart.

Do you trust God with nothing wavering?

Do you have doubts about his ability to help you?

These questions are hard but they need to be asked so you can stand back and think about your answer.

I know trust is a very elusive commodity. It isn’t something that comes easy for me.

Yet, with God it should be easy because he has never disappoints me.

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty. Zephaniah 3 verse 17.

He can do anything.

Nothing will harm you…

God promises…

No weapon that is formed against you shall prosperity and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the héritage of the servant of the Lord. Isaiah 54 verse 17.

God is everything..

He says, ” Look unto me, and be you saved…” Isaiah 45 verse 22.

Not one good thing will he withhold from those who seek Him, from those who love him, from those who follow hard after Him and walk in his ways.

What does God mean to you?

He is my provider.

Jehovah -jireh

And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and the hidden riches of secret places, that thou may know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name.

Isaiah 45 verse 3

One more promise…

I will go before you and make crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron…I am the Lord and there is none else.

God prepares a way when there is no way.

He makes my path straight and gives me light for my feet.

When he makes a promise no one can stop it.

No one can stand against it.

He is God.

Adapted from Isaiah 44 verse 2.

Overlooked again and not the flavor of the month.

Missed the point again?

Too bad?

Squelch that unhealthy thought.

No child of God is a loser.

How can we be losers when our father is the Most High God?

Sure life is hard. Debt is high and money seems to have  wings.

Pray a prayer of faith  and believe like Habakkuk did.

In chapter 3, he says even though there is no fruit on the trees, and no meat, no provision to be had yet he says he will rejoice and joy in the God of his salvation.

He knew God will not leave him or his people destitute.

God will always provide.

His name is Jehovah – jireh

The Lord will provide.
