Keep things simple. Don’t worry, but live for today. Worrying never changed anything; it never pushed things forward it only gets you frustrated, which then leads to heartache.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the shall take thought for things of itself. (Matthew 6 verse 34)
By accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we receive the gift of eternal life.
Consider and hear me, O Lord my God. Psalm 13 verse 3
Someone commented on the grace of God, saying it’s something we don’t deserve. It’s true. The God of the universe has so much love that He gave His only son to save us from sin. He wants us all to be saved and go back to Him. By accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we receive the gift of eternal life. Christ died for us, the undeserving, to reconcile us with God. This is an undeserved gift. (1 Peter 3:18-22)
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5 verses 16 – 18
When the days grow dark with worry and stress, we ought to look to the Lord for all our needs. His words are pure, and his promises are true. As we look to him for help, it is best not to lean to our own understanding. He knows the way and will make the path clear and clean for us to walk to safety . Rejoice in the fact that he is a good and compassionate God. Give thanks to him for his mercy endures forever. -adapted from Zoom Meeting 2024 – C. Heiland.
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
It was a softcover book with a picture of Jesus kneeling in prayer. As a child, I never saw color or how anyone will know in this century what he liked, but I believed it was Jesus, and I held it tight in my hands at night.
It became my safety shield at night when I couldn’t sleep or had bad dreams. I would keep it by my pillow and pray for a good night’s sleep, then close my eyes.
Several years later, I found it and smiled in remembrance of its significance in my childhood. I don’t use it any longer. Understanding I only need to call on the Lord anytime, anywhere without the use of props to make me feel safe.
Sometimes, when things go wrong, and those around you rise up in false witness against you, discouragement sets in, and depression drives you into distress. Remember, those who seek to discredit you will not last. Their vain, brief victories will end. When God is for you, no one can be against you. ”The Lord is king forever and ever. The Lord hast heard the desire of the humble. In the Lord, put your trust.” Psalms 10 and 11.
I am on a mission for good fitness. Not just fitness for my body but my mind and my spirituality. Make no mistake, health is wealth in body and mind.
These days, I am trying to take things lightly and not stress out. Stress only adds negativity to an already bad situation. So, I am taking one day at a time and thank the Lord for my blessings. If I leave things to him to place in order, everything will fall nicely into place.
My deal this 2024 is not to work hard but to work smart.
What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?
I think to live a very long life is a blessing. The number of our days God will fulfill. Some may not live long, but with the time we are all given, it is best to live it well. Living long is great when there is good health and the finances to sustain such a life.
For me, living a life pleasing to the Lord is a blessed life because the Lord will give me the desires of my heart. And giving thanks to the Lord is having the mind of Christ.
Life can get so busy when you have different projects on the go or have so many responsibilities to tackle. For me, I set out a schedule, and for brief time, I follow it until I slip because it is too tight to keep up. This stresses me out beyond imagination, and I end up getting sick or angry with myself.
I am getting better, learning to give myself some wiggle room to breathe. Better time management allows for that, but knowing me, I look at what I have to do and fall into the same stress trap.
But I have faith, and I will learn to do better because my health depends on it.
And he said unto him, Fear not for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee and that also Saul my father knoweth. 1 Samuel 23 verse 17.
It is sad that Jonathan, Saul’s son, chose the wrong side and died with his father instead of standing at King David’s side. One mistake can lead to dire consequences. Say as Joshua did: choose today whom you will serve, but for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
