Promises, Promises All God’s Promises

It is a universal fact that people fail to keep their word.

But God is the Almighty, and he can never go back on his word.

There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life. God said, “I will not fail you nor forsake you.”

Joshua 1 verse 5

He will do the Same For You

Don’t be selfish.

When others move forward in health, finances, or lifestyle, rejoice with them for the same God who blessed them will bless you too.

Look at Job from the Bible. He received blessings after he prayed for his friends.

And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when prayed for his friends; also, the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42 verse 10.

I am learning just like you, my friend, to wait and trust God. He has not forgotten you. It is just not your time, not yet, but soon.

God, My Protector

Who is best to take care of you?

He is in control and knows the end of your journey before you even start out.

He is Jehovah Shomri. God, my protector.

God promises:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: (Life is hard but God will lead you through it, even when things get overwhelming) when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you.

You may not get to skirt some  problems, but he will be there with you in the situation just like that fourth man in the fire.

Adapted from Isaiah 43 verse 2

( If you do not know about the fourth man in the fire, read the book of Daniel)

When God knows you..

God is powerful.

At times, we miss the fact that this same God who created the universe is also our father.

He is a father to those who believe in his only son and who put their trust in him.

We are all God’s creatures. But as a born-again believer, we are called  children of God.

If we are children of God, then he will provide for us.

He will protect us.

He knows us.

He knows even our name. This is an intimate relationship he seeks to have with us.

Trust him. He does not sleep. It takes only one cry to awake his ear.

Prove him today, and see if he will not come through for you.

But now thus saith the Lord that created you…and he that formed you.

God said, “Fear not; for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine.”

Isaiah 43 verse 1

How do I know God? I call Him by His Name.

Names are labels to identify individuals. We are given a name before or after birth as a personal tag. As names can point a person out among a crowd, they can also be a symbol of that person’s character; they are an extension of a familial tradition.

With Jehovah or God, this is different. His names speak to his power and his glory. It can prove our faith and strength in various situations.

For example:

We call him, Jehovah Rapha, God our healer.

Going through physical sickness with nowhere to turn or trusting in him, we can say with assurance he will heal me because he says to ask anything in the name of his son, and he will do it.

We have some financial hardship? We can ask him to heal our finances and wait, believing because he is Jehovah Rapha.

In the book of Exodus 15 verse 26

, it says, I am the Lord your God who heals you.

Psalm 103 says he heals all my diseases.

Psalm 30 says he cried to God, and he healed him.

He is a stronghold in the day of trouble.

These are only a few words of comfort and acknowledgment concerning his name as the healer.

Can you say the same as Jehovah Rapha, my healer?

How do I know God?

In any relationship, the name of the other person is very important, too.

How we call that person is an indicator of how we feel about that person.

Is there anger or affection. Is there familiarity and intimacy.

When we think of a relationship with God, what do we call him?

God.

Father

Almighty.

Are we close enough to him to call him Abba Father?

Abba is a form of little children addressing their father as Papa or Daddy.

It is not something that most will favor because of His position as Creator.

It shows a closeness that goes deeper nearer than anything ever can.

It is a position of love and security.

Who is God to Me and How to get closer to Him

As a christian, a close relationship with God is something I need to strive towards by praying and reading the Bible daily.

As this year comes closer to an end and a new year begins to rise on the horizon, we all begin to make resolutions to do things better in the new year. We look forward to a fresh start.

I am here to say why wait for that new year.

Now is the accepted time.

We have no way of knowing what will happen tomorrow, let alone in a new year we have only today.

We have now and we need to live in the present.

My advice is to start now and get things right with God. It does not have to take hours on end praying and reading but just start small.

Read a verse one day and think about it. How does it work into your life.

Repeat it over in your head throughout the day. This will cause you to memorize it.

Write it down. This, too , helps to secure it into your memory banks. When the time comes, you can recall it without difficulty.

Where do you start?

A wise man once told me to start in the  gospel of John.

Or if you want to see the first works of God, start  with the book of Genesis.

And like the John one verse one,we are again back at the beginning.

Life comes in a full circle.

Morning, by morning, he awakes up my ear so I can hear his instructions. ( adapted from Isaiah 50 verse 4)

Who is God to me? The Giver of All Good.

I serve God Almighty. The true and living God. Who loved the world with a great love that he sent his only begotten son.

He gave his only son.

Jesus is the son of his love.

He is the greatest gift of all.

Who is God to me?

My relationship with God began before I was born. He knew me. I was not an afterthought. None of us are afterthought in God’s mind.

Going back to the blog entry before.

God was not alone in the beginning. He took counsel and said, “Let us make man.”

In the Old Testament book of Genesis chapter 1 verse 26, Jehovah is called Elohim, meaning God. There is more it in the Hebrew language wbut simply put here, it is a plural noun followed  by a plural verb.

Some say he took counsel with his angels.

Really???

Let me get this straight:

The Creator needed to tell his other creatures who were his ministers doing his will, what he planned as if asking permission?

If you believe that, then you bring God down to your level.

He is the almighty

The One who formed the world’s at his our will. Who planted the stars in the heavens, who made all creatures great and small. At his will, everything subsist.

Again, think about who we serve.

Meeting God for the First Time…

God is introduced to the world for the first time in the book of Genesis.

He was introduced in Genesis because the world did not exist.

Genesis means in the Greek language “origin” or beginning.

God is larger than life itself because he gives life.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ( Genesis chapter one verse one)

The first characteristic of God is that he is the creator.

He called the things that did not exist into existence. ( Romans 4 verse 17)

He formed the earth from nothing.

The argument in science is that the world was formed by a big bang, the Big Bang Theory.

Then there is the Evolutuon of Life by natural causes.

These theories  can be refuted. Needless to say, if others do not believe in God as the Creator of the Universe, it does not make it untrue or unreal.

Who is God?

He is the creator.

Let’s keep things simple and share this text with a friend.
