Something New

God does not do the same thing the same way.

Every day is new.

Look for him to work for you. Know it and own it.

(Adapted from Isaiah 43 verse 19.)

Guidance at sunrise

I start the day by thanking the Lord and asking for guidance.

I learned I can’t do anything without him.

I try to recall his promises so I could thank him as I take hold of those words.

For example…

I pray, ” Lord, you promised to go before me and take control, making my path straight. I claim this promise and leave everything in thy hands. Amen.”

This is not a charm like a rabbit’s foot. It isn’t magic.

I know he is handling everything for me.

What about the caregivers of those who are ill?

No one talks about the caregivers. It is a thankless and exhausting job to take care of a loved one who has physical or mental concerns.

Yet, it can be a blessing

There are good days and bad days, but looking at the situation with a compassionate eye makes the weariness of each task almost fade away into nothingness.

Some people say it is a calling. Clearly, those folks are the ones who have never seen another person’s most basic needs.

It is not a calling but is a creation or necessity of life with all its varying circumstances.

One thing I know for sure is that when times get tough, never turn your back on that vulnerable loved one. If you need help, just ask.

My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9.

Do you only pray to get something?

Sometimes, it is good to pray for giving thanks sake. We don’t have to ask to receive. We can also give him praise because of what he has done but also for who he is. Or we can give thanks because of what he means to us.

Prayer is our way of talking to God. We should make the most of it.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will i praise him.Psalm 28 verse 7.

God, My Protector

Who is best to take care of you?

He is in control and knows the end of your journey before you even start out.

He is Jehovah Shomri. God, my protector.

God promises:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: (Life is hard but God will lead you through it, even when things get overwhelming) when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you.

You may not get to skirt some  problems, but he will be there with you in the situation just like that fourth man in the fire.

Adapted from Isaiah 43 verse 2

( If you do not know about the fourth man in the fire, read the book of Daniel)

When God knows you..

God is powerful.

At times, we miss the fact that this same God who created the universe is also our father.

He is a father to those who believe in his only son and who put their trust in him.

We are all God’s creatures. But as a born-again believer, we are called  children of God.

If we are children of God, then he will provide for us.

He will protect us.

He knows us.

He knows even our name. This is an intimate relationship he seeks to have with us.

Trust him. He does not sleep. It takes only one cry to awake his ear.

Prove him today, and see if he will not come through for you.

But now thus saith the Lord that created you…and he that formed you.

God said, “Fear not; for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine.”

Isaiah 43 verse 1

Praying is simple in 2025

Praying to God should not be complicated.

Right?

God loves to hear our voices as we call on Him.

Keeping things simple yet relevant is important. We don’t have to make a fuss.

Ask and it shall be given unto you.

Easy.

For example, if you were on board a sinking ship and you need help. You scream…”Help.” There is no time to beat around the bush.

So, when you come to God in prayer, just tell him what you are in need of, and He promises to answer.

Isaiah 41 verse 10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee…

He will always be there to hear whatever you have to say.

I call Him Jehovah Rapha; the Lord my healer.

How do I know God? I call Him by His Name.

Names are labels to identify individuals. We are given a name before or after birth as a personal tag. As names can point a person out among a crowd, they can also be a symbol of that person’s character; they are an extension of a familial tradition.

With Jehovah or God, this is different. His names speak to his power and his glory. It can prove our faith and strength in various situations.

For example:

We call him, Jehovah Rapha, God our healer.

Going through physical sickness with nowhere to turn or trusting in him, we can say with assurance he will heal me because he says to ask anything in the name of his son, and he will do it.

We have some financial hardship? We can ask him to heal our finances and wait, believing because he is Jehovah Rapha.

In the book of Exodus 15 verse 26

, it says, I am the Lord your God who heals you.

Psalm 103 says he heals all my diseases.

Psalm 30 says he cried to God, and he healed him.

He is a stronghold in the day of trouble.

These are only a few words of comfort and acknowledgment concerning his name as the healer.

Can you say the same as Jehovah Rapha, my healer?

For The Moment…123

The faithfulness of God is a curious thing. We will never understand it. We will never wear it out.

He remains faithful while we fall away; such is his love towards us. We have nothing to fear because there is nothing that can separate us from his love.

If we abide not, yet he remains faithful; he can not deny himself.

2 Timothy 2 verse 13.

For The Moment…122

Nothing hits God by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning. We are like grasshoppers before him , yet he has compassion towards us. His loving kindness is for now and forever.

When we feel afraid, thrown into the deep without a life jacket, we must remember he is the rock of our salvation.

Fear not just whisper his name. He is the Deliver.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Psalm 123 verse 2
