For The Moment…121

We should not limit God. He is the same God who called into existence those things that did not exist.

There is no limit to his power and no measuring his love.

When we ask, we need to sit back and let him take control. He will do great things and different things you never thought about.

He is infinite.

Call unto me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.  The Lord is his name.

Adapted from Jeremiah 33 3 and 2 b.

For The Moment…119

The summer is ending, and it is back to school time. Change is something that can not be stopped.

Change happens in every aspect of life. Sometimes it is hard to accept newness or the difference of things, but if I want to continue to exist in this diverse world, I am learning I have to accept things and try to make them my own.

God helps me with this. I sometimes have not sown the seeds of change, and my harvest is, at times, not what I want, but God sees me through. He can change things to work out for my blessing.

All he asks is for me to believe and trust in him.

I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from there comes my help. Adapted from Psalm 121 verse 1.

For The Moment…118

My God is merciful and kind.

He has not dealt with us after our sins.

Thank the Lord, or we will be punished as the day is long.

Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

He does not treat us like we treat others for their misdeeds. He does not think like us, and I thank him for that.

If he were to think like us, then there would never be mercy for those who misstep.

There would never be kindness for the weak who mess up on a regular basis.

There would never be love for those who need a shoulder to lean on.

My God is not like us. He is not quick to condemn. He shows compassion when no one else would.

This he does for his children, for his people, to those who follow him and love him, for those who make him the Lord or their life.

Praise his name forever.

Adapted from Psalm 103 verses 10 and 11.

For The Moment 117

If God is for you, then who can be against you.

You have nothing to fear. You have nothing to worry about. He sets a path of blessing before you to walk in all peace and confidence.

If God says yes, then no one can say no.

For The Moment…115

A close relationship with the Lord is key to all our needs. He is the source of all blessings , and from him flows all good.

Reading his word and praying to him puts us in a closeness where he will open up understanding and wisdom to us, thereby enabling you to make sure and good decisions.

A closeness with God keeps us safe and secure. We learn to trust Him no matter the circumstance.

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91 verse 1.

For The Moment…114

When you have a problem, you must realize that the Lord is your source of help.

There is no one who can get you out of a situation like He can.

The Lord is always there with you in the middle of it all. He will never leave you to handle things on your own.

A problem may be out of your control as most problems are. The Lord has the solution because he is the solution. Call out to him, and he will get to work on whatever you need.

He is a very present help in times of trouble.  ( Adapted from Psalm 46)

For The Moment…113

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hast formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, a d as a watch in the night. Psalm 90 verses 2 and 4.

This is the God we serve. A God of power and of might. He was before all things the Creator. He formed everything with words of his mouth.

He is God. He can do anything.

We have only to believe and he will do it.

For The Moment…112

He can do anything.

He hears our cry.

He remembers that we are fragile. We are weak humans subjected to all the powers of pain, sorrow, and loss that surround us.

We are but a speck in this vast univers, yet there is grace.

We have no power to control our destiny, whether it be good or bad.

We are subject to life as it is.

Does not God care?

Does God not understand?

Does He see all the injustice waged on us?

He promised to be present when we needed help.

He promised never to walk away from us.

He will always be near.

Nothing is hidden from him.

Am I a God at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off?

Can anyone hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Says the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? Says the Lord

He is a God of great mercy and compassion.

He speaks truth, life, and love.

For The Moment…109

We pray for things we don’t have, or for things we need, like our health is compromised, the bank is on our tail for payments we can not make, or we desire a promotion we believe we should have.

Regardless of our reasons for praying, we know that our source is the Lord. Without Him, we can’t do anything. He gives strength. He gives means. He creates opportunities.

He is the same in the past, today, and in the future. There is no one like Him. He will never leave us or forsake us.

This is his promise.

His promises are yes. His promises are amen or so let it be.

For The Moment…108

All thanks and praise belong to God.

He is worthy to be praised from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same.

When we are in health and have good times before us, and things are going smoothly, it is easy to praise the Lord.

When things are going badly. When the medical report is poor. When there is no money to pay all the bills. When the boss hates you. When everything at work is wrong, it is hard to sing praise.

But Job said, “Although he slay me yet will I trust him.”

To come to this realization is a big step of faith. But  like Job can we take that step?

It is all a matter of trust. It’s a matter of turning your eyes upon Jesus and to look in his face and not at the problem.

Yes, humanly speaking, it is hard, but if we dig deep and think about what lies before us, the choice is easy.

Remember, he is God.
