When we wait on the Lord, it is not because He is slow or forgets to be kind to us. Waiting can seem very long. We do not hear or see any difference. He is not subjected to time like humans. We are born, live a little, and then we die. ( Ecclesiates 3 verse 1. To everything, there is a season.)
Time is not His enemy. It is His creation.
( Genesis 1 verse 5. The evening and the morning were the first day.) He dwells in eternity where time and the ravishes of time can never touch. Yet, God remembers what we are. He remembes we are frail creatures, and we go back to the earth as dust.
(Psalm 103 verse 14. He knows our frame and remembers we are dust.)
At the appointed time, He will come through. It will be for us perfect. We have only to trust Him.
I know it is hard. But He knows how this story ends and how it started. He is faithful.
(Isaiah 46 verse 9 to 13…
I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from the ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I purposed it, I will also do it. Hear me, I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry.)
Yet To Be # 307 – Remembered in our hearts all waysnot just at Easter.
What is the significance of Palm Sunday?
It is a Christian celebration with its origin in Biblical times.
Matthew 21 verses 1 to 9 and John 12 verses 12 to 16.
And when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Zion, behold, thy king cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. Isaiah 62 verse 11.
Jesus traveled through the city of Jerusalem on a simple donkey. The crowds cast palm branches along his path, crying Hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna means Pray, save us.
In Biblical times a King would ride into the city on a horse as a symbol of war, but when he entered the city on a donkey, it was considered a symbol of peace.
Jesus riding on the donkey is seen as the Messiah coming to his people in peace.
He came to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19 verse 10
Public Journey to the Cross Part One is to be remembered not only at Easter but in our hearts all ways.
