To believe is to trust God. Unbelief is a lack of confidence in God, a sign of unfaithfulness, mistrust, and the absence of obedience. How can we say, we love God if we have no faith in him? How can we say we follow God when deep down we think he may fail? Do we understand what it means to believe, to be all in no matter the circumstance? Can we hear that still, small voice saying, hold on my child only believe? A Prayer Warrior accepts God at his word with nothing doubting. Trusting God where He cannot be traced.

Jesus said, And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing you shall receive. Matthew 21:22
Though situations seem dyer where there are no alterations, no changes.
It matters not. A good warrior must keep moving forward, keep pressing onward.
Have no fear, soon the clouds will part.
The path will become clear, the footing will grow smooth and solid.
Then the light of hope will break forth to blaze in the face of many adversities.
Only, hold the line.
“Hold the line” is a term that comes from military tactics in which a line of troops was supposed to prevent an enemy breakthrough. – dictionary meaning
A Matter of Praying…Part 3 – Direct Connection to God
Prayer
We have a direct connection to the Creator, to the Holy Father, the God of all flesh, the One who called those things that are not into being. (Romans 4:17)
This relationship is a two-way street, where there is giving and taking. God gives and we take. Not one good thing would he withhold to those who walk uprightly. We cannot hoodwink God. He knows all things, he knows the heart and every motive. If we ask for things to only consume them in our lust, we will not receive those things. We need to remember who He is. (Psalm 84:11), (James 4:3)
As we get closer to God, the things we want seem to fall in line with his desires for us. Sometimes, we call on him not knowing what to ask for, but being sealed with the Holy Spirit, He makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. The Spirit mingles a sweet savor to the Father who accepts our prayers with all joy, because the Father likes to hear the voices of his children.
As we read of Him in the Bible we begin to understand Him more and more. He reveals Himself in the pages of his Word, because it is there we get a taste of his character. As we see that He is good, we seek to please him. We want more of Him so we approach him in prayer on our knees, on our face. We humble our self knowing we are nothing before Him. Like Moses who took off his shoes and King David who washed, shaved, and changed his clothes before coming before the true and living God, we too have this privilege and we should own it with all Reverence; giving Him the glory, the honor that is due to him.
Written approximately 60 AD by Matthew an apostle of Jesus Christ.
Message: Jesus is the promised Messiah.
Matthew chapter One verse One proclaims Jesus as the Messiah, as the Son of David, the son of Abraham.
The genealogy Jesus Christ states there are fourteen generations between Abraham and David and from David to the carrying away into Babylon there are fourteen generations and from the carrying away to Christ there are fourteen generations.
There are approximately 1000 years from David to Christ.
Son of David is a title that shows his royal lineage and is first mentioned in the New Testament in Matthew 1 verse 1. He as the son of Abraham shows he descended from the father of many nations as an Israelite. This all proves his earthly heritage as a man.
Key verse: Matthew 16 verse 16, 17
“Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God.”
Breakdown of the Gospel of Matthew
The coming of the Messiah, 1:1-2:23
Jesus’ public ministry, 3:1 – 15:39
Jesus’ closing ministries, 16: 1 – 23:39
The prophecies of the destruction of Jerusalem and the end, 24: 1- 25:46
What’s in a title… Jesus has many titles that speak about his position and his character, qualities, and traits distinctive to him and him alone as seen in the gospels.
Son of God – Jesus Christ, the Son of God ( Mark 1 verse 1)
The Christ [ Greek] Christos translated from the Hebrew Meshiah or Messiah. In Latin it is Christus – ( Matthew 1 verse 1, Mark 1 verse, Luke 2 verse 11 and 26)
Lord – from Greek, it is Kyrios meaning God, lord, or master. And it is said to be used over 700 times in the new testament. Example: Luke 2 verse 11, Romans 10 verse 9 – confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord. Lord “is a person who has power or authority over others.”
Another name for the Son mentioned in the gospel of Matthew is Emmanuel. The meaning of this name in Hebrew is God with us. Giving him this name goes back to the book of Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14.
“A virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son and call his name Immanuel or Emmanuel.” Matthew 1 verse 23 is a direct quotation from the book of Isaiah. The name Emmanuel conjoins two Hebrew words “El” meaning God and “Immanu” meaning with us.
One more thing to note is this name does not appear anywhere else in the New Testament. At that time before Christ, the Jewish nation was under the heavy hand of the Rome empire and the people were looking for a savior. After the death of King Solomon, the dividing of the kingdom, then the ten tribes carried away into Assyria, the Maccabean Revolt even by the birth of Jesus which was under the Roman empire, the people of God were referred to more and more as Jews. No longer called or revered by the surrounding nations as God’s chosen people.
As said before, they endured hardship and sorrow under the yoke of Rome but remembered the promise by the prophets of old of a Messiah who will save them. In the fullness of time, God sent forth his only Son to fulfill his promise to his people, Israel. “He will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1 verse 21
The fourth book of the new testament called the Gospel According to John was written from AD 85 to AD 90.
The disciple and Apostle John looks at the “humanity of Christ while never losing sight of Christ’s divine nature.” It opens with the same words of the first book in the Bible, Genesis, in the beginning before time was the Word was, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The relationship between the Father and the Son is initialized in this verse and sets up the main purpose of the entire book which is to explore this unique union.
John’s presentation of Jesus as the Son of God is evident in the famous and keynote verse 16 of chapter 3.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe on his name shall not perish but have everlasting life.

The I AM is introduced in the old testament of the Bible in the book of Genesis and He is worshiped as the true and living God.
In His great love, God sent His only son to die for the world. In the new testament of the Bible, Jesus is the son of God. He is the son of His love, who is in the bosom of the Father. In the four Gospels of the new testament, Jesus is presented differently in each book. The word gospel comes from the Anglo-Saxon term god-spell meaning good story or good news. There are four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each of these books gives an account of the life of Jesus from different viewpoints, not opposing but different.
Matthew presents Jesus as the Messiah. Mark presents Jesus as the Servant. Luke presents Jesus as the Son of Man. John presents Jesus as the Son of God.
Each representation of Jesus is not an opposing view but shows the characteristics of the Lord. Matthew and John both start with some form of genealogy, Matthew shows his earthly Jewish lineage establishing him as the Messiah or the anointed one. The first verse immediately establishes him as the son of David (the King) and the son of Abraham (the father of nations), Jesus Christ. Earthly name Jesus and his title as the Christ or the anointed one. Christ comes from the Greek word Christos used in the Greek Septuagint to translate the Hebrew Masiah or Messiah, meaning the anointed one. The book of John declares his deity as the Word is in the beginning, before time began the Word was with God and the Word was God. He is coexistent and coeternal, coequal with God and He is God. He declared God while here on earth.
John 14 verse 9 and 10 “Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope…
Knowing we have hope in Christ
On the train…
It is truly wonderful to know that all our hope is accepted in the resurrection of Christ, and our confidence and faith are in knowing that our eternal inheritance is secured in heaven.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fades not away reserved in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1 verse 3 and 4
