Since his death, it is not the same

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

I loved to bead. I loved making things with my beads. I made bracelets, necklaces and rings, and even bookmarks. I love to go to the bead shops and pick out new items. I spent a lot of money, even my lunch money, and would go without eating, but it was worth it.

My greatest cheerleader was my Dad. Everything I made for him was “beautiful.” He passed after my last craft show a few years ago in the spring. The years are going by so fast, it seems like yesterday.

I put away my tools and my beads, and I have no desire to make anything.

Not yet. It will all come back.

I just need time.

Not a candy lover…

What’s your favorite candy?

However, I do like to pop a mint in my mouth so I don’t have my friends keeling over in a death heap from my breath.

Besides, it is nice to have fresh breath when going for that sweet liplock with my guy.

On the other hand, I pray his breath is fresh, too.

I’m I superficial?

Of course I am. A girl has to be whatever she wants to be. Besides, I don’t want him screwing up his face because he hates to kiss me. He has to love to dive right, honey, and the same for me.

I need a break from work to get my sea legs.

Do you need a break? From what?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. I work with the public, meeting people from different walks of life. Some are kind others not so much, but all have a story, and I like storytelling and listening.

But I need at times to be recharged. Recharging will be a good break. A break not two weeks  but something with substance like a sabbatical. I mean it will be a dream if it were a paid sabbatical.

What will I do?

My side hustle. It is artsy. Something very different to my medical based field.

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

The internet was established on that date. I love surfing. I do a lot of research, and the internet is a treasure house of knowledge. Some things are good and some bad, but it is how you use this source.

There are folks using it for evil, and we try to stay far from them until we can’t because they have us in their crosshairs. Now, that is bad, and there is nothing we can do, but be careful.

We can’t throw the baby out with the dirty bath water.

My Day Off

Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.

An ideal day is always a day off work.

Wake up before anyone else when it is still dark but almost dawn.

Fall on my knees in prayer and Thanksgiving for another day. Ask for guidance throughout the day. Don’t want to step on any toes and cause a fight. I want to make good choices.

Let the dogs out to do their business and open the house. Watch the sun creep up on the horizon to peek through the trees. Then call for family worship.

Then, fulfill the desire to get ready and exercise. Yikes!!!! Did I say that? That is my evil twin talking.

Become a nice domestic kind nice person and make breakfast for all. I do like cooking and creating yummy dishes.

Shower and get ready for some blogging and writing my stories as well as editing those stories with deadlines attached.

Have lunch, relax, play with the dogs, chat with family, and relax some more.

Eat dinner someone else made. Relax and watch a movie.

Have family prayer, then do my devotions and get ready for bed. Have a great night’s sleep, and then wake refreshed the next morning dv.

Sounds like a wonderful day to me.

The Passing of My Parents

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

It hurt a great deal when my parents died. God fulfilled the number of their days, and I trust his calling them to Glory to be with Him, yet I am human and it hurts.

But, I realize that if they stayed, I would not grow spiritually. Even though I am an adult I still have a way to mature. My age is nothing compared to my state of mind. I may be older in body but my mind and understanding need to catch up.

As I look back, I see I can trust in the Lord and rely on Him and not on people.

Play with my dogs

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

These days I am so busy I get very little time to relax. Every morning, I play a little with my dogs, but I feel it is not enough. I put time in my schedule on my days off, but things get in the way that I switch gears and do something else. The look on their faces are enough to make me feel like something lower than a human being.

So this weekend I will do it. Spend real time with the fur babies.

Besides, if I don’t, they may jump ship and bite me .

I love to cook rosti.

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

I love potatoes. I can boil them and serve them with a little butter and sprinkle some herbs.

I can mash them with some garlic.

I can fry them. Yum.

Rosti is cool, something like a potato fritter. I think the name is German. But it is all good. Grated potatoes fried live a pancake, flipped onto the other side and cooked until golden brown. Then, it is served with sour cream or not. Yummmmm.

My first computer? The Old Faithful.

Write about your first computer.

Sounds like my first toy or book.

It was a desktop IBM, and it was great. It was fast, and I spent hours on it writing and doing research. That was a while back.

I would boot it up, listen to it, turn on, and away I went. I miss that old thing. Sometimes, old things are still good and reliable things.

Up, Up, and Away

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Being high above the ground never thrilled me. I don’t like heights. I don’t like flying. What goes up must come down, I always think. However, it is how we come down.

Being on an airplane makes me nauseous. Every flight I have taken, I have experienced turbulence and am really bad at that. Dipping and pitching is not my idea of an easy ride. But if I must fly, I will take a plane ride. Just give me something to relax first. And of course, pray a lot.
