Up up and away…

What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

Up, up and away in a hot air balloon.

Drifting above the tallest trees on a bright fall morning seeing the beauty of nature, God’s creation.

Deadlines…

What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?

As an aspiring romance novelist, I have made for myself strict deadlines for my different stages of development. I have to, or I will fall behind and put things off like nobody’s business.

My mind is like spaghetti. It goes in circles, and I get distracted easily. Soon, life gets in the way and I have to answer to its call.

Juggling several projects, I think, makes me seem productive, but in reality, it just stresses me out.

Flemish Baroque artist…

Who are your favorite artists?

I love the baroque period, especially the work of Peter Paul Rubens. I like the richness of his work. Like many of the old masters you can not even see a single brush stroke. I like his religious subjects, which is typical of that period. For example, the altarpiece called Elevation of the Cross, 1610, oil on wood.

Transporting to other worlds…

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

I love to write. In my spare time, I write romantic fiction. I create characters I would like to meet, and I put them in unique situations.

That is fiction. In reality, my God is in control. I will have it no other way. He allows me to meet different people. I am put in different situations where I depend on Him and trust him. He will never forsake me or fail me.

Writing is a gift from God that allows me to be transported to different worlds where I enjoy for a season.

I thank God for this gift. And I thank God for those who read my work.

Losing it all…

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

It will be hard if I lost all my possessions. I know they are only things, and I cannot take them with me when I die. They are important but can never replace life. They are earthly things that can be rebuilt.

In the Bible, a man called Job lost everything, but he never cursed God. He gave him praise.

One thing I can never lose is my salvation. I am God’s child. My sins have been washed away. And my name is written in the book of life.

I can never lose the Lord because He is everything, and He provides everything. If you have the Lord in your life, He is all you need.

Cook or Go Hungry

What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

Cooking is no longer a household chore I run from like the plague. I now seek out new recipes to experiment on and watch my family struggle to digest.

Fact is, I am blessed. I have food to work with whereas some people in the world go to bed hungry. It may not even be people in a far way country but could be folks next door.

I have much to give thanks to my Lord.

Out of place and in my place

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

There are many times I feel out of place, not because of how I look or behave, but because it is how others view me. That is one reason or sometimes.

I most often go along to the beat of a different drum, which at times is not heard by a majority. Then, when I catch myself and look around and I realize I am alone.

Do I feel uncomfortable? Sure.

I stop feeling sorry for myself and think of my blessings. I thank God and try to fly like an eagle.

Back to the stone age

Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

Computers are important whether we want to to admit it or not. They make it easier to complete work. We can retrieve data much faster, and we have access to a vast amount of information.

Our world is run by computers, making it impossible to live without them.

For some countries, having a computer can grant access to different worlds of education.

Forgiveness is the key

What skill would you like to learn?

As I learn to forgive, I feel a freedom deep in my soul. God forgave us. I must try to follow that example.

But it is not easy. I want to plot their demise. I shouldn’t. The Lord said, vengeance is mine. I will repay.

God has my back.

Amen.
