About Money…right???

What would you do if you won the lottery?

If it is about the money.

Indeed, I would give God thanks for this blessing. Then, I take out a portion for the Lord and his service.

Finally, I will put it in the bank and huddle at home with my sisters making a plan of action.

Boom!

Debt gone.

Boom!

Nice nest egg for later in life.

Boom!

Help my other sisters and their kids.

Boom!

Give to those who help the forgotten people around the world.

Wait, this is a lottery about money right?

If it isn’t, I give it back!!!!

Ever read the short story, the Lottery by Shirley Jackson?

Well you don’t want that.

No thank you.

More like reread

What books do you want to read?

I enjoy a good English novel mostly   from the Victorian times. However, I do like earlier pieces and my favorites are some by Jane Austen.

I would like to reread Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey.

I like her assembly of words, the situations each character finds themselves in and of course the plots of each novel.

This year is the 250th annversary of her birth December 16. This is a great time to reacquaint myself with some of her works.

Maybe I will read all six of her books.

Cooking…

What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

Yeah, I hate anything housework seeing  I am not domesticated. You will not catch me in the kitchen wearing pearls, high heels and a apron over some cute little black dress. Well maybe minus the high heels. They just hurt.

I do like to cook though.

On the weekends, I love to experiment on new recipes. I try new ones and give them to my family  to taste and critique.

I think cooking has become my calming place.

When I stumble onto a great, delish dish it becomes a keeper in my entertainment journal.

Elora Gorge

Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting.

The gorge is said to be beautiful with a spectaular view of the rushing waters of the Grand River below. The cliffs are high, and the drop is steep but breathtaking.

I have a painting of the gorge where the artist’s captivation of the area is haunting and yet alluring.

I am hoping to take a trip there maybe this summer dv.

Nothing

List five things you do for fun.

Nothing, nothing, more nothing, nap, and absolutely nothing.

That is the beauty of being free to relax and not worry about what people think about you.

You just be you.

My little protector

If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

My dogs are so cute and fiercely loyal.

When strangers come close they start barking and jumping around. This alerts me whether I am in the home or out walking.

They are amazing. Noise but amazing.

I pat them on the head. Say good boy or girl or give them a treat.

My little protectors.

I feel loved.

Writing…

What’s your dream job?

I love to write romantic fiction and I like blogging.

My dream is to get paid well enough for my work so I can sustain my lifestyle with plenty left over to help my loved ones and maybe others I know in need.

Compassion and fairness

What makes a good leader?

I think those two words speak for themselves.

The person has to listen first before drawing conclusions. That is the best way to show compassion and fairness.

After surgery

Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

I recently had surgery. During recovery in the hospital, my sister helped me to get dressed, or so it would appear. She turned my pants inside out. Helped to put my legs in one of the legs of my pants. I was in pain, but she was trying so hard I could not get mad. It was day surgery, so I had to leave that same day if all went well. And all went well, thank God.

She waited for me all day. Imagine that.

At home, things got even worse. I had two sisters helping me. Oh my, my, my…

Let me say that on the first two days, when I needed help to get dressed, I wished there was another way. By the time they finished with me, I felt like a pretzel. I didn’t know pants went on like that. After the third day, I refused help.

But through it all I felt cared for by my family. The effort they put in, the kind words were what I needed.

The main fact is that the Lord brought me through the surgery and recovery with much love. I feel loved by my heavenly Father for giving me great sisters to mess me up and those other sisters who prayed for me from afar.

All joking aside, they are the best sisters.

In my mind

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

It is a true saying, ” Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Not worrying about every single thing declutters my mind.

If I worry about everything, I will be too stressed out, my heart will race, my pressure will sky rocket, and I could get seriously ill.

I have to weigh what is priority and what is not.

Then, I worry about the priority?

No.

Then, I take a deep breath and weigh the consequences along with my actions. I have to be honest. I am not in control. I can do my best to deal with a situation and pray for the best result.

For example:

I have to make certain numbers for every business quarter. The economy is bad, people are hoarding their money, prices are high. I work on them, say the right things, and make my calls, which is the best I can do. I can’t sweat it. Living worried about my upcoming work day and the lack that may happen can do more damage to my health. My job is to do the right thing and leave everything else to God.

Why worry when I can pray.

The Lord has never failed me.

Laugh if you want, my belief and your disbelief do not make this less true.

My motto is”  Don’t worry, be happy.”
