God’s Promise: Reward of Life

the Lord is not slack concerning his promise

Yet to be #171

Our names are written in the Book of Life
If we confess Him to the world.
If we walk in his favor bringing honor to his name by living a life that pleases God and by trusting him at his word, then there is proof of conviction and conversion.
We overcome the world, lost to the whims and fancies of life that hold no meaning to God because He has no preeminence.
Being friends with the world and loving the things of the world puts us at enmity with Christ.
We cannot have two masters.
Christ as savior seals us with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption.
There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God, neither death, hell, Satan, or the grave.
He promised when our name is written in the Book of Life, it will never be erased.

(References: Revelation 3:5 “I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise.”

When Death Invades Life…

What happens next when death invades life.

How to cope with the passing of a life once loved by those around?

Looking to the left or the right.

Falling on the knees and weeping in pain

Looking through the darkness in uncertainty and yet not seeing a light.

Taking that one small step forward is agony to the heart

Gather together the fruits and remembrance of that life now gone.

Gone, but never to forget; never to lose self in the past but to press on.

Press on in love knowing that there is comfort among others who understand;

Who experience loss and have won the gift of endurance.

“Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5 v

#2 Time Into Eternity

When time passes into eternity,

And the mortal becomes the immortal, then time is over.

There is no ending, no pain, no fear, no dying and no forgiveness;

Only the reward of life’s choices and the realization that eternity has no clock.

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened and the doors shall be shut in the streets when the sound of the grinding is low…then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”  Proverbs 12 verse 3, 4 and 7
