God promises salvation to everyone who believes in his son, the son of his love. God loved us even before the world began. He gave us everything to enjoy, but we plunged the world into sin which, separated us from our Creator. But God so loved the world; he had a remedy. He sent his only son to earth that we can be saved. His son became the perfect sacrifice for sin, he became the remedy to bring mankind back to a holy God and to make us fit to call God our Father. Jesus Christ, the son of God, suffered for us and died for us. Nothing but a perfect sacrifice would appease God, so his son must die in our place, a place we deserve because of our sinful nature. (John 3:16)

Abraham, the friend of God, received a promise. To be the father of many nations, the heir of the world. Impossible when the body was old and frail. In a moment of unbridled weakness, believing it best to help God, they formed a plan. Unfortunately, the plan was flawed future lines of adversity created. Then in the fullness of time, a reawakening began. The promise given a decade ago was now, reality. To be an heir there must be a living legacy. Abraham, by faith, believed God at his word. The idea of resurrection brought the promise to fruition. He was fully persuaded that what God promised, God was also able to perform. (Romans 4:21) God is not slack concerning his promise. By faith, Abraham received his promise; it was inputted unto him for righteousness. (James 2:23 and Romans 4:22)
“Who against hope believed in hope, and being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb; he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.” (Romans 4:17-19)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
David was a humble shepherd boy who became a mighty man of valor. In David are the promises given to Abraham from Jehovah, and Christ comes from this earthly, Davidic lineage. “His kingdom is forever, and there is no end.” (Isaiah 9 and Luke 1:33) He was the first to reign in Jerusalem as God’s anointed in the stead of the people’s choice of Saul. David was the second ancient king of Israel and made many enemies even before he took the throne. His father-in-law, King Saul, hated David’s well-deserved accolades and even sought to end his life. David was not perfect, but he put Jehovah first in all that he did. He put all his trust, hope, and delight in his God and never once doubted Jehovah’s word. Even when he was old and well stricken in age, King David could say, “as the Lord lives who has redeemed my soul out of all distress.” (1 Kings1:29)
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27
Throughout the Psalms, we see the pouring out of David’s heart. He exposes the innermost feelings of fears, doubts, depression, frustrations, and anxieties. Promised the kingdom after his anointing, he lived like a vagabond, a fugitive, yet despite all of this, he gave praise and thanks to Jehovah, saying, “God set my feet upon a rock and established my goings.” (Psalm 40:2) Then when it was his time, God fulfilled his promise and raised David as the greatest earthly king. He was a great fighter, a poet, a musician, the fourth son of Jesse, and a man after God’s own heart. (1Samuel 13:14)

When you are afraid and weak.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am they God: I will strengthen thee; yes, I will help thee, yes, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10
When you need courage.
Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee, he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6
As children of God by spiritual birth not because we are God’s creatures, he forgives us our sins. But as human beings living in this sinful world we are subject to sinning daily. If we mess up for any reason, we have Jesus our advocate who approaches our Father God on our behalf.
How cool is that and how blessed we are. Amen.

He knows the heart; he tries the reins, and he searches the soul. No one can hoodwink him, for he is God. Ask and see if he will not move the earth to see us through. He is a God of love and compassion. Great is his faithfulness.
