God’s Promise: in the midst of Depression

He raised me out of my dark hole.

Yet to be #173

He raised me out of my dark hole.
The Lord is my shepherd.
He guides my path.
I may fear what can happen to me. I fear as my body may give way, but God is able.
He has not given me over to mindless existence.
He did not leave me to struggle in my black corner.
My delight is with him.
My joy is in singing my praise to him.
He is the captain of my salvation, my soul, yes, my whole being.
He makes a path for me to walk and light to plant my steps.
I call upon him from the depth of my soul, and he hears my cry.
He promised and would not disappoint.

“He brought me also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” Psalm 40:2

God’s promises: I will come again.

Surely, I come quickly.

Yet To Be #172

He will not leave us or forget about us.
He desires to have us with him at his home.
He will come for his people.
He hears our cries and knows our deeds, and yet he wants us still.
He will not be in heaven without us.
When the time is right, we will hear the last trumpet and the voice of the archangel.
The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who remain shall be caught up to meet him in the air.

“Surely, I come quickly.” Revelation 22:20 and 2 Thessalonians 4:17

God’s Promise: Reward of Life

the Lord is not slack concerning his promise

Yet to be #171

Our names are written in the Book of Life
If we confess Him to the world.
If we walk in his favor bringing honor to his name by living a life that pleases God and by trusting him at his word, then there is proof of conviction and conversion.
We overcome the world, lost to the whims and fancies of life that hold no meaning to God because He has no preeminence.
Being friends with the world and loving the things of the world puts us at enmity with Christ.
We cannot have two masters.
Christ as savior seals us with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption.
There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God, neither death, hell, Satan, or the grave.
He promised when our name is written in the Book of Life, it will never be erased.

(References: Revelation 3:5 “I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise.”

God’s promises: I go to prepare a place for you.

Where He is, He wants us to be.

Yet To Be # 170

The desire to have someone we love close and to keep that person always near is worth having.
Opening our life, our dwelling place to someone our heart forms an attachment is intimate and precious.
It is a language far deeper than emotions can ever flow.
It is out of sight, out of mind caught up in the heart, which is the seat of all affection.
This is the love of God and His desire in His promises towards us.
Where He is, He wants us to be.
Where He belongs, we have a home ready and waiting.
There is no other desire in His heart but for us.
If that isn’t love indeed, the oceans are dry, and there are no stars in the sky.

“I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you maybe also.” John 14:2 and 3

God’s Promise: Kindness forever

Touched by the feelings of our infirmities

Yet To Be #168

Knowing the Almighty God, the Creator of the universe cares for us surpasses all understanding.
He sent His only Son to suffer and die, to secure us for Himself.
His love reaches far, burning the very fringes of our minds and awakening our dark souls. There is no God like Him, gentle in mercy and plenteous in understanding.
Touched by the feelings of our infirmities, He cannot deny himself; so deep is His love, who can compare?

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Isaiah 54:10

God’s Promises: He Will Never Forget You.

You are never forsaken

Yet To Be # 167

God said, “I have chosen you, and not cast you away.” Isaiah 41:9

You are not forgotten, never forsaken.
Chosen before the beginning of time.
You are beloved, the apple of his eye, accepted in His son, and cherished by His own heart.

God’s Promise: He Gives Rest

He is my God who sits on His throne and reigns forevermore.

Yet To be #166

He gives rest to the weary.
He brings calm to the confused.
He is light when there is darkness.
He is hope for the lost, a friend to the singular, home to the homeless.
And He gives eternal life to those who are perishing.
He is altogether lovely.
He is my friend; He is my Savior.
He is my God who sits on His throne and reigns forevermore.

Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

God’s Promises

God will help you.
God said, "Call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you."

God’s Promises: You will be remembered.

When the cold, dank scene of aloneness is the only place found where you head can rest; it is time to call upon the Lord.

Yet To Be # 165

Remembrance is a precious gift of honoring those loved, respected, cherished, or merely liked.
It is the act of looking back and preserving moments, words spoken, and actions taken.
The bitter sting of loneliness sets in when you are lost within a crowded sphere.
Your deeds are not mentioned.
Even your existence seems to be wiped clean from the memory of friends.
When the cold, dank scene of aloneness is the only place found where your head can rest.
It is time to call upon the Lord.
The One who forgives sins and wipes away all tears from your eyes.
The One who gives comfort to the brokenhearted, healing to the disparaged soul, brings cheer to the sorrowing,
And yet all the while promising never to leave or forsake you.
His love is real because He can never forget to remember.

“I formed you; you are my servant…you shall not be forgotten of me.” Isaiah 44:21

God’s Promise: Available 24/7

Fear not…I have called you by name, you are mine.

Yet To Be #164

His eyes are upon you.
His ears are open to your cries.
He knows all about you, all that you are, good or bad.
And all that you will be makes no difference.
The holy One surrounds you with favor like a shield.
He carries you on his shoulders.
He loves you with an everlasting love,
and calls you by name.
He never sleeps.
He never slumbers.
Our God is present, forever and always.

“Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper: the Lord is your shade upon your right hand. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul.” Psalm 121:4-7

“For thou, Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour will thou compass him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
