For The Moment …22

Take the whole world, but give me Jesus; no turning back, no turning back. I have decided to follow Jesus.

This original hymn was sung by Nokseng, a Garo man from a tribe in Meghadaya in Assam, which is the northeast of India. The formation of this song to hymn is attributed to an Indian missionary Sadhu Sundar Singh.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For I delight in Him. ( Psalm 18 verse 21)

Lord appears over 700 times in the new testament

Day 18 What’s in a title…Part 9

What’s in a title…
Jesus has many titles that speak about his position and his character, qualities, and traits distinctive to him and him alone as seen in the gospels.

Son of God – Jesus Christ, the Son of God ( Mark 1 verse 1)

The Christ [ Greek] Christos translated from the Hebrew Meshiah or Messiah. In Latin it is Christus – ( Matthew 1 verse 1, Mark 1 verse, Luke 2 verse 11 and 26)

Lord – from Greek, it is Kyrios meaning God, lord, or master. And it is said to be used over 700 times in the new testament. Example: Luke 2 verse 11, Romans 10 verse 9 – confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord. Lord “is a person who has power or authority over others.”

Christ died for us

Day 3 of May – Jesus loves me

May is a month of rebirth.

It is also the fifth month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars.

The season before summer.

In the Bible, five stands for God’s grace.  The unmerited favour of God towards the human race.

We are not deserving of his love and kindness, nevertheless God so loved the world that he gave his only son.

Jesus loves me this I know.

But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5 verse 8

he would supply all our needs

…as having nothing, and yet possessing all things…I will be your God and they shall be my people. 2 Corinthians 6 verse 10 and 16

Jesus told us that he would supply all our needs. We know that “He owns the cattle on a thousand hills”. Jesus is Lord ( Vicissitudes of Life, 2007)
