Peace Be To You, Fear Not

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding

Genesis 43:23

Yet To Be #203

Take a breath and exhale,
knowing there is a peace that goes beyond all reasoning.
It is a peace that settles the mind and the heart,
Where all fear is gone, worry disappears, and anger fades.
God knows everything.
Even every hair on our head has a number.
So, take it easy and have no worries about your tomorrow,
Because God takes care of everything.

Fear Not: He remembers His promises

Fear not for I am with thee

Yet To Be #201

God does not forget His promises

And can never go back on His word.

He is not a man that He could lie.

Plain and simple, we can take Him at his word.

A promise given, is a promise He will keep.

And the Lord appeared unto him the same night and said…fear not, for I am with thee and will bless thee, and multiply they seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.

Genesis 26 verse 24

Fear Not – With God We Have Everything

If we have God, we have everything.

Yet To be #199

Standing on the threshold of tomorrow with no idea of what will come.
Knowing something will happen.
And, yet, knowing nothing.
Joy is up, and light follows prosperity and security.
Indulgence gives way to pride, and forgotten is the Rewarder of all good gifts.
Woe to those when their joy is squelched, their light is snuffed, and their soul grow lean with doubt.
Fear not, though your fields are bare, and your bags have holes.
If you have God, you have everything.

And God said, fear not, I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15 verse 1

Is the Bible too Old for the Modern World?

Shadows of the past become concrete reflections of today’s reality.

Yet To Be #198

The Bible is a collection of books authored by many and inspired by God.
God is behind every word, idea, and theme of this marvelous book.
Although it charts the story of man, God is the center and heart of the passages written therein.
The stories within the Bible are historical and full of years yet are relatable for the present times.
Shadows of the past become concrete reflections of today’s reality.
The people of the Old Testament and New Testament foreshadow the actions of us today who are under grace and are no longer identified by earthly origin but now are called children of God.
Stories of faith, endurance, encouragement, social and economic depression, health and sickness, death, and dying are all present in this book.

There is no concern left unturned.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine (beliefs and teachings), for reproof (rebuke, reprimand, and criticism), correction (changing to make right), for instruction in righteousness (teaching to live right). 2 Timothy 3 verse 16.

Life is a journey of learning and the Bible is an excellent guidebook.

God’s Promises Prove Him

As a child of God we have His unwavering love.

Yet To Be # 197

God’s promises are not only indicators of His thoughts towards us, but they stand as evidence of his character.
His words are proof that He cares, He loves, He protects, and He gives blessings.
As a child of God, we have His unwavering love.
He keeps his own and knows us all by name.
We hear His voice, and He answers our cries.
There is none like Him, our heavenly Father, and our God.

Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer. I am the Lord, Your Holy One. Isaiah 43: 10 a, 11, 14 a, 15 a.

Santa Claus and the Christian

the effective fervent prayer

Yet To Be #195

Santa Claus or St. Nicholas was a transported legend from Dutch settlers to New York City in the 1600s. Saint Nicholas was a 4th century Greek Christian bishop who helped the poor and gave gifts to the needy.
Today, for some, Christmas is considered a material or commercial pass time, while for others, Christmas is a time of joy and giving. Spending time with loved ones far (virtually) or near (virtually) is a blessing.
Those who remember the less fortunate, the sick, and the shut-ins on this day of feasting, have a special blessing reserved for them.
Christmas is not a day of selfish endeavors, nor is it a time for only the young but for folk of all ages to enjoy both giving and receiving.
Yet, loneliness bites hardest on this day and New years day. So, for those who experience aloneness, loss, tragedy, poverty, or are bombarded by sad and dark memories, our thoughts and prayers must go out to them without prejudice.

“The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16
Blessed is he that considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth, and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing; thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. Psalm 41:1- 3

The Coming of the Messiah

Unto us, a child is born.

Unto us, a child is born. (Isaiah 9 verse 6)
In Bethlehem of Judea, a boy child was born to a virgin, and they called his name Jesus.
As the shepherds rejoiced and the wise men gave homage to the child, we too celebrate our Saviour, the Lord.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and goodwill towards men. (Luke 2 verses 13 and 14)

Uncertainty

I know the thoughts that I think toward you

Yet To Be #193

The old year exits while a new one enters.
The future holds promise, disappointment, sorrow, or joy.
Uncertainty looms large.
We bow blinded by the experiences of the past.
Toil to seek the best possible outcome as we stumble aimlessly in the dark.
Yet, there is hope.
Hope which rises, not compressed, not stamped out.
It stands eternal in our hearts.
Anticipation brightens the eyes and lightens the path.
When there is hope, there is life.
When there is life, there is God, the Master, the Creator, our heavenly Father.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV) or to give you a future and a hope. (ESV) Jeremiah 29:11

Ask God Without Fear

He invites you to call out to Him in the day of trouble.

Yet To Be #192

Oh, why do you fear?
Why is your heart so cast down?
Did He not say ask anything?
He invites you to call out to Him in the day of trouble.
He wants you to turn to Him with all your heart and humble yourself, so shall you find rest in the time of need.
God said it.
We ought to believe it and take Him at His word.
He hears all your prayers and answers them all on time.
Ask and see if He will not open the heavens and pour out a blessing just for you.

More About the Bible: Part 4

Let us make man in our image.

Yet To Be #187

Genesis

Author: Moses

Written: between 1446 and 1406 BC

Details:

  • first book of the Hebrew Bible called bereshit or in the beginning and the first book of the Christian Bible.
  • Genesis is the Greek word meaning origin or beginning.
  • First book of the Torah or the Law
  • Primeval history
  • Ancestral history

First Line sets the tone of the entire book, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.

The Primeval history consists of relationships. The first relationship presented and most important, is the relationship between God and the Son as mapped out in the name of God or Elohim. The root El translated from Hebrew into English for God, the first name of God as seen in Genesis 1:1. Elohim is the plural for God. The Hebrews of the Old Testament had only one God who was Yahweh. They believed in monotheism which is the worship of one God. As Elohim is plural and Eloah is singular, this is the first evidence that the Son was with God the Father in eternity past before the creation.
And God said, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” (Genesis 1:26) In the beginning, before time began, He was not alone but, is speaking with someone else.
Then there is the relationship between God and man and the relationship between man and beasts and then man and woman as seen in the creation story. (Chapters 1- 11)
The ancestral history details the rise of the nation of Israel as God’s chosen people and God’s covenant to Abraham (the patriarch) and his descendants. (Chapters 12-50)
