Titles of Jehovah: The Lord Will Provide

Jehovah – Jireh – Jehovah our Provider

Yet To Be # 306

Different titles of Jehovah describe his office and his character. As a child of God, he is our Father, and daily as we turn the pages of the holy scriptures we learn more about him.

In those pages, we know of eternal life and what it cost the Father to send his only begotten son to die for us.

We also know of the price his son paid to redeem us back to God the Father.

In his title, we glance at a small part of him, a small part of him he wants to share.

Jehovah – Jireh – Jehovah will provide.

He is the Provider.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm 84 verse 11

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4 verse 19.

And Abraham called the name fo that place Jehovah – jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. Genesis 22 verse 14.

God’s Word is Yes and Amen

Yet TO BE # 304

The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

His benefits and blessings are renewed every day.

Of his lovingkindness, there is no end.

Trust him where you cannot trace him, where things seem bleak.

When the way seems dim.

When the path to walk looks dark, impassible.

There is no God like him.

There is no help like his aid.

Take that leap of faith and trust in a God who fulfills all his promises.

A God whose love is everlasting.

And his word is yea and amen.

Day 5 of May

Who is He?

And they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3 verse 13 and 14

There are about 300 times in the Bible mentioned “I am” beginning with Genesis 15 verse 1 and ending with Revelation 22 verse 16. Most times it gives us a small picture of God’s character. For example when God says to Abram, “I am thy shield and exceeding great reward.” In other words, God is saying he will protect you and keep you safe. He is saying he is a God of love and care. His lovingkindness is incomparable; there is no one like Him.

Is He not beautiful?

In Exodus, God introduces himself as the IAM. He announces His divine person. IAM is present continuous. He is now and forever, the first and the last, the alpha and the omega.

I continue to be what I continue to be and will be. The ever-existing One or He that is to come. From eternity past and will be in eternity.

God’s love is great and forgiving

When God is Love

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them.” Genesis 3 verse 21

God’s love is great and forgiving, even amidst the worse situation His lovingkindness surpasses understanding. Adam and Eve were afraid of God because they knew they had sinned, so they ran from Him and hid themselves.  But God found them and with His own hands in simple and pure love, made coverings for them, so that they could come back into His presence without shame.
