Remembrance Day: To Recall Jesus

We see Jesus

Yet Too Be # 248

To bring back to mind

On the Lord’s Day, we remember Him.
Like those women who early on the first day of the week came to prepare the body of the Lord with spices and ointment as it was the custom in burial, we today remember the Lord in praise and thanksgiving. We muse on his beauty as the Son of God, his work on this earth, his death, burial, resurrection and position now in Glory. We recall Jesus Christ, the Son of God’s love.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2 verse 9.

God’s Promise: Kindness forever

Touched by the feelings of our infirmities

Yet To Be #168

Knowing the Almighty God, the Creator of the universe cares for us surpasses all understanding.
He sent His only Son to suffer and die, to secure us for Himself.
His love reaches far, burning the very fringes of our minds and awakening our dark souls. There is no God like Him, gentle in mercy and plenteous in understanding.
Touched by the feelings of our infirmities, He cannot deny himself; so deep is His love, who can compare?

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Isaiah 54:10

We battle not against flesh and blood but against …wickedness in high places.

Be a Warrior

Be a prayer warrior

Someone who prays to the Lord and fights battles against the enemy, on their knees. Warriors come between the trouble and God to make intercession on their behalf and for others. Warriors also give thanks to God and they praise Him. As time goes by and the Holy Spirit teaches the Warrior how to pray and what to pray for, a deep, solid relationship grows between the Father God and His child, the Prayer Warrior prince or princess.

One important and major aspect the Warrior must take heed of is to be completely aware of coming into the Holy presence of the true and living God in the name of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is the only mediator between God and us but as a Warrior, we are His soldier, his person at arms, his lieutenant, we work for Him and depend on Him for guidance.

We battle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6 verse 12.

If you think there isn’t a spirit world where there is darkness, think again.

We are like David and the world and the cares of this world are our Goliath.

A matter of praying continues in the next Yet To Be posting…

What’s in a title…part 10

Book of Matthew again…details

Written approximately 60 AD by Matthew an apostle of Jesus Christ.

Message: Jesus is the promised Messiah.

Matthew chapter One verse One proclaims Jesus as the Messiah, as the Son of David, the son of Abraham.

The genealogy Jesus Christ states there are fourteen generations between Abraham and David and from David to the carrying away into Babylon there are fourteen generations and from the carrying away to Christ there are fourteen generations.

There are approximately 1000 years from David to Christ.

Son of David is a title that shows his royal lineage and is first mentioned in the New Testament in Matthew 1 verse 1. He as the son of Abraham shows he descended from the father of many nations as an Israelite. This all proves his earthly heritage as a man.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself

Day 16 What’s in a name part 7

The Lord’s day is special for a true child of God.
The first day of the week we are drawn by the cords of God’s love to worship the Son.
We close the door on all the cares of this world.
Dismissing the problems of life.
Turning away from the mounting debt;
The discontent, the depression, the loneliness.
For a moment we fix our eyes on the Lord and see only him.
The lowly man, the one who knew no sin and in him was no sin.
His work on earth is perfect and complete.
For this moment in time, we can contemplate him,
The Son of God’s love, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12 verse 3

For God so loved the world

Day 10 The Word was God

The fourth book of the new testament called the Gospel According to John was written from AD 85 to AD 90.

The disciple and Apostle John looks at the “humanity of Christ while never losing sight of Christ’s divine nature.” It opens with the same words of the first book in the Bible, Genesis, in the beginning before time was the Word was, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
The relationship between the Father and the Son is initialized in this verse and sets up the main purpose of the entire book which is to explore this unique union.

John’s presentation of Jesus as the Son of God is evident in the famous and keynote verse 16 of chapter 3.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe on his name shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Day 7 Who Can Declare God but God…

There are the other two gospels, Mark and Luke not mentioned in the last post but still hold great importance declaring his character in a name.

The gospel of Mark was written between the mid-50s to 60s AD by John Mark. The same John Mark in the book of Acts deserted Paul and Barnabas but came back to work with Barnabas on mission work. Peter later called him his “son”.

Mark presents Jesus as the Servant, a person who performs duties for others. In this book, the Son of God is a lowly man walking this pathway on earth in perfect obedience to the Father. Verse one introduces the entire book by stating this is the good news of Jesus Christ, the gospel, the Son of God. Here too the author calls him Jesus, his earthly name in conjunction with the title Christ, the Messiah, the promised King, the anointed one, and then solidifies the truth that by calling Jesus as the Son of God, his divine person.

The book jumps right into his acts by omitting his birth and leaping straight to his baptism and ministry. He is the Servant of God, doing the work the Father sent him here to do meanwhile, he is also the lowly man performing deeds for his people. He brought himself down, making “himself of no reputation and took upon himself the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of man” to understand us, to feel and be a part of us.

He is touched by the feelings of our infirmities (our weakness)but in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin, meaning he is God and therefore holy. And though, he is the Son of God, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.

Christ died for us

Day 3 of May – Jesus loves me

May is a month of rebirth.

It is also the fifth month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars.

The season before summer.

In the Bible, five stands for God’s grace.  The unmerited favour of God towards the human race.

We are not deserving of his love and kindness, nevertheless God so loved the world that he gave his only son.

Jesus loves me this I know.

But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5 verse 8

sent his only son to become our Savior

Holiness

In the New Testament of the Bible, holiness means to be set apart from the profane (the unholy) and refers to the beauty, purity and divine perfection of God.  God the Creator, who called the things that were not into being.  It is this same God, who in his great mercy loved us so much and could not deny Himself, sent his only son to become our Savior.  – adapted from the King James Version
