But let patience have her perfect work…

Prayer Warrior and Patience

In a world burning with triviality and desires for instant gratification, cultivating patience is an impossible feat.
This virtue requires discipline, self-restraint, and grace which comes from God.
Some may advise praying for patience. If there is weakness, impressionability, floundering in the wake of tribulation or anxiety within the mind, asking for patience adds frustration and compounds the feelings of impatience.
However, asking for strength to endure the waiting gives us strength. Strength, when there is no accommodation, stripped of every goal, weary of treading multiple avenues without accomplishment, leads to a dependence on Him which is priceless.
He is the only one who can dispense strength freely. He is our strength and with him comes the great escape.
Best to ask for strength to endure.
Understanding to see what he has for each of us.
Hearing to listen to his voice as he gives instructions.
He speaks today loud and clear just like in times of old. He isn’t a joker doling riddles that need to be solved before a prize can be won. There isn’t a code to be broken, no game to complete.
The Lord has already paid the price for everything. And everything he has is ours to enjoy abundantly. (The cattle on a thousand hills are his. Psalm 50:10)
Things work out differently than expected, nevertheless, with the Lord on our side things work out beyond what we think or imagine, and we can be satisfied.
His strength helps the waiting period fly by.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1: 3 and 4

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12:12

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof; and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Proverbs 7:8

But will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.

When You have a Connection With God

In returning and rest shall you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. Isaiah 30 verse 15

Jehovah is elucidating where you can find hope and rest. If you want to armor yourself against today’s battles, try resting in Him. He is the One who supplies hope, peach, rest, and encouragement to your soul. You take your quiet time, a time by yourself with no distractions, and talk with Him. That means you pay and read his word, the Bible to hear him. Get your strength from Him as we learn and lean on Him

My God in him will I trust

My God, I Will Trust…

My refuge, my strength I trust no other.

He saves me from harm

And saves me from self and shame

Protected, folded in his arms, why am I afraid?

Loneliness compasses me, covering my soul

Darkness tempts me, its cruel voices rise,

They call out to me and I hear them,

Where now is he who is your refuge and your strength?

He has turned from you in pity.

Cries ascend, fear and doubt descend on me, I cannot see.

Life pauses for a time, or two or more, and still there is nothing .

Tired, I rest my eyes against the pain.

I slump in agony and nothingness.

Then are my ears open and finally I hear.

I listen to that still, small melody;

So swift, so quiet, so easily missed.

I hear it, I remember its sweet tune and I know.

It is He who comes softly;

My Refuge who rises with the morning sun;

And kisses the fragrant dawn with sweet words of comfort.

I need no other.

His time is his and his work is perfect

He is known of me and I of him.

In the night and in the day, He is become my song and I follow him.

Reference: Psalm 91 verse 1 and 2

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty . I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God in him will I trust.

when I am weak then am I strong

# 5 of 31 Hope and Darkness

“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

“For when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12 verse 10

When I am depressed, afraid, cast down, plagued with worry, then I look up and I see Jesus and He gives my strength. He is my Hope, my Refuge and my Light in this dark and evil world.

Comfort in Hope

Times keeps moving forward never backwards.

Time keeps moving forward never backwards. Life does not stand still for anyone in this world, no matter how hard the desire is to hold onto a good moment to savor it and to digest into memory, that moment passes quickly as water through the fingers.  Life at best is very brief. No matter how life is composed, whether made of good times, bad times, happiness or sadness it is moving forward. No one on this earth can stop time or turn back its cruel hands. But there is comfort in the knowledge of hope.

Without hope we are most miserable.  Hope enables us to glance up and to look ahead and not behind, to see a promise of something that can be and as faith would gain strength, will be.

“…who against hope believed in hope…” Romans 4 verse 18 a

“ Is not my help in me? And is wisdom driven quite from me? Job 6 verse 13 KJV

We often say that we trust the Lord but when the test of faith comes, we break down.  There is a saying; you never know the strength of tea until it is steeped in hot water. ( Vicissitudes of Life, 2006)
